Google

From UCanWiki

Google is a search engine: a website that allows you to search the entire internet for information.

Google is very simple to use. First of all, go to www.google.co.uk. The Google homepage will load. It looks like this:

Click on the "Search Box", and type in your "search terms": these are the words you want to search for on the internet. For example, if you wanted to find out information about buses in London, you could type in "London buses" (without the speechmarks). Once you've typed in your search terms, click the "Google Search" button.

When you click the Google Search button, a list of search results will be displayed. For example, searching for "U Can Do IT" will display a list of search results which looks something like this:

There are five search results displayed in the above picture. Each one includes three sections: one section in blue or purple, which is the link to the website Google has found which matches your search terms. The black text below this is taken from that webpage, and shows you precisely how your search terms appear on that page. The green text below this gives you the full address for the webpage Google has found.

To go to the webpage which seems to be the closest to what you are looking for, simply click on the appropriate link.
