What follows is an abbreviated list of Dragon NaturallySpeaking commands for Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 (supplemented with release 10) in alphabetical order. It should be abbreviated because there are numerous combinations of words that trigger the same command. At the same time, all common commands should be listed.
These commands are available out of the box. They are triggered by speaking them. To be understood as commands, they must be spoken alone, requiring a brief moment of quiet before and after. Speaking with additional words before or after will be interpreted as dictation and be typed on the screen instead of executed. Successfully understood commands display a blue edge around the Results Box. To force NaturallySpeaking to understand only commands hold the control key when speaking, or say switch to command mode. Conversely to force understanding only dictation hold the shift key, or say switch to dictation mode. To return to normal mode say switch to normal mode.
